Find every A

A scene full of letters with arms and legs. Find the ones in the row below, count them, write how many — and the color won't give any away.

How it works
Ages3–6TypeLetters

Look at the shape, not the color.

A letter hunt worksheet generator, printable as a PDF. Each sheet is a framed crowd of cartoon letters with arms and legs, and a row of three to six letters under it, each with a box for how many were found. Every letter on the page is dealt a random color, so a child has to look at its shape, not count the red ones. Pick up to six letters — this week's letters, or a child's initials — and every sheet hunts those; pick none and each sheet chooses its own. Easy is big letters with no look-alikes of the hunted ones on the page; hard is smaller, with the look-alikes there on purpose: P beside R and B, E beside F, M beside W. The answer key fades every letter that was not asked about.
