Big A goes with little a

A capital and its lowercase often look nothing alike, and a few lowercase letters are each other's mirror. Matching them is how a child learns they are one letter.

How it works
Ages3–6TypeLetters

Say the letter, then find its partner.

An uppercase and lowercase letter matching generator, printable as a PDF. Four activities: draw a line from each capital to its lowercase partner, two columns of seven a set; Letter Friends, the same matching with cartoon letters that have arms and legs, six pairs a page, each letter a different color from its partner so the color is no clue; circle the lowercase partner in a row of five, where the wrong ones are the letters children actually confuse — b beside d, p beside q, n beside u and h; or write the missing letters into runs of the alphabet. Choose A to M, N to Z, or the whole alphabet. The letters are ball-and-stick print, as on a classroom alphabet strip. A new set every time, with an answer key.
