Hexagon mazes for children who find square ones easy

Six ways out of every cell instead of four, and not one straight corridor on the sheet. A maze that looks like it runs across the page is actually zig-zagging, so the eye cannot skim ahead — which is exactly why this one is harder than it looks.

How it works
Ages7+TypeMazes

Six sides, and two of them go backwards.

A hexagon maze generator, printable as a PDF — six ways out of every cell instead of four, which is the hardest sheet we make. Pick a corridor width and whether you want one maze or two, and generate. The arrow on the left is the way in and the star on the right is what Mintee lost off his cap. Six neighbors per cell means a wrong turn is one choice in five rather than one in three, and two of those lead diagonally backwards — the mistakes take longer to notice, which is where the difficulty lives.
