Portal mazes where matching marks carry you across
Two squares on the sheet share a mark. Step on one and you come out at the other, wherever it happens to be — so a corridor that looks like a dead end can be the fastest way to the far corner.

Matching marks carry you across the page.
A portal maze generator, printable as a PDF. Pick a corridor width and generate. Portals come in pairs, each pair with its own shape inside a ring — square, triangle, cross, diamond — and stepping on either one puts you on the other. The route is built so it has to go through at least one of them, which is the difference between a portal that is decoration and a portal that is the puzzle. Two pairs on a wide sheet, four on a narrow one, and one route to the star Mintee lost off his cap.
