Skip counting mazes by twos, fives, tens or a surprise

Each step is the same amount more than the last. Pick the step, and the maze is made of that count — with numbers from the same count dropped in the wrong places, so a child has to keep track rather than spot the pattern.

How it works
Ages6+TypeMath

The same step, square after square.

A skip counting maze generator, printable as a PDF. Choose to count by 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s or 10s, or Surprise for a step from 3 to 9 printed in the heading, then pick a level and generate. Easy and medium walk the times table itself; hard starts off it, by fives from 3, which takes the memorized table away and leaves the adding. There is exactly one route from the arrow to the star.

1

Start

At the arrow. The first number is beside it.

2

To the square that is exactly the step more. The heading says which.

3

Finish

Sometimes two look right. Only one keeps counting to the star.

Difficulty

Hard starts off the times table — by fives from 3 — so it takes adding, not remembering. Surprise picks a step from 3 to 9.
