The carrot is 5. Now keep your place

Looking a picture up in the key is the easy part. Writing its number in the same square of an empty table, row after row, without slipping a line, is what takes the concentration.

How it works
Ages5–9TypeFocus

Look up the picture, then find the same square.

A picture code worksheet generator, printable as a PDF. A key along the top gives each vegetable a number. Below it are two tables side by side: one full of pictures, one empty. The child looks up each picture and writes its number in the same square of the empty table. Pick five pictures in the key, seven or nine — more to tell apart, and a bigger table. Every picture comes up about as often as the others, never beside or above one just like it, and the key is dealt again each sheet. The answer key fills in the whole table.
