Help the kitten get to the yarn

Twenty problems on a thread, and three or four colors in the key. The answers are close together — 7, 8, 9 — so an answer that is a little off lands on the wrong color, and the finished trail shows it.

How it works
Ages5–8TypeMath

Solve it, find the color, color the oval.

A color-by-sum worksheet generator, printable as a PDF. A thread winds back and forth across the page from a kitten to a ball of yarn, with twenty ovals strung along it, each holding an addition or subtraction problem. A key at the top gives each answer a color. The child solves every problem and colors the oval, all the way to the yarn. Pick problems within 10, within 20, or two-digit within 100. Every answer in the key comes up at least three times, no problem repeats, and the answer key colors the whole trail.
